Mario Brothers Birthday Cake

I made this Mario Brothers cake for my nephew Trenton for his 8th birthday

Trenton wanted a Mario cake, so I stole the idea from a friend who makes cakes and off I went.

Mario kind of fell asleep, but overall it was a success! It was fun to make and Trenton loved it! My fourth cake I have ever made.

My amazing sister Angela is trying to win a $50,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Everything project to open up a group home for sibling groups in the foster system. Most foster homes don't have the accomodations to house more then one or two children from the same family, so those children are most often split up and placed in seperate homes. The group home Angela is trying to open up would be able to accomodate up to 10 siblings.
Angela needs this money to show proof that she has the funds to run the group home for the first year. Watch this video to learn more about sibling groups in the foster system

Imagine being a child and being placed in a foster home without your siblings. Imagine how alone you would feel. Angela already has a sibling group in mind for the home that she wants to open up. They are ages 6, 11, 13, and 15 and are living in seperate homes.

James brings such a beautiful spirit into our home. He is such a good little boy with a ton of personality and passion for life. He keeps us entertained all the time.

It is so fun to see his reactions to the new things that he tries in life like eating. Watching him try new foods is hilarious! The kid gets so excited that he can barely eat. He is especially fond of bananas and starts laughing every time he eats them.

The kid is just a blast!!!

This is James 3 weeks ago...

and this is him now, he is getting so big and is losing all of his hair.

Baby James Trent Is Here!!!

Well, after 18 hours of labor and a C-section we have our baby James Trent Burke here at home!

He is such a cute little guy (may be a little bias).

We just got home from the hospital today and we are tired but happy.

Anything is worth the beautiful baby that we have now.

What a joy to be a father! I didn’t know that I would get so emotional but I had to hold back the tears when I held him the first time. Needless to say I am a proud father and Amber is a great and beautiful mother.

I know that he is in good hands with her because even though I try I know nothing about babies.

We are blessed to have mom and baby so health and strong!

Fall Is Now In Session

I love this time of year. Fall is definitely underway! The leaves are turning, you can smell the scent of burning firewood at night, and the nights and morning are getting a little crisp.

This is the time that the feelings of the holiday season start to come back and we start burning our candles with the beautiful smells of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The most exciting part of our holiday season this year will definitely be the new edition of a baby boy in our home and family. We are getting so excited for the little fellow. Can't hardly wait to see how he looks and acts.

We are all set for him to come...except for the name...we are leaning towards James, but are still a little in the air about it. Anyway, he will be here soon and the name will come to us.

What a beautiful and exciting life this is!

Our Trip To LA

Kicking off our amazing trip to LA Jonathan got really sick so I had to drive. We are so glad that we went even though he was sick.

Here is the view of the LA. LDS Temple on the way to our hotel. Beautiful.

This is Jonathan at our hotel the first night. He was still pretty sick and out of it.

Here I am on the balcony at our hotel. It is a beautiful view from up here.

This is the reason for our trip and we were well served.
We had a business conference and it totally rocked!
A media company that changes lives and brings a positive power into a world of media full of negativity.
This was one of the most powerful experiences of our lives.

You can't go to LA without going for a walk on the beach and pier.

It is all about enjoying what we do and loving the moment.

We finally did it!

Well here we are. With a baby on the way and after almost 5 years of marriage we have finally put together our family blog.

We will try to keep anyone who is interested enough to read up to date on on the goings on in our little family.

As for now we live in Show Low, AZ. and life is wonderful.

We will try to remember our camera more often so we can put pictures with the stories of our lives. As we all know, "a picture speaks a thousand words."

Well, we're off for now.
